Beauty sleep is very important to not only one’s health but your skin as well.  I was so tired last night I went to bed at midnite and only got up at 8 am – to send the kid to school – and yet I didn’t get a good rest.  Friends tell me that it’s my mattress and that a mattress store los angeles has the kind of mattress that would do good for my sleep.   If I was in Los Angeles – it would have been perfect but since I’m not – I wonder too if there is anywhere that carries the same kind of mattress that this store in los angeles carries.   I also hear that the mattress at the Los Angeles store is 30 – 50% cheaper than other mattresses – now that i an awesome deal eh.  I really do need to change my mattress – our mattress is about 7 years old and it was supposed to last longer but I wake up with backache all the time for the last few months and that’s not good at all.  Getting a good sleep is very important for keeping me beautiful and a woman needs her beauty rest – I don’t want any back pain nor eye luggages.

January 15th, 2012Children & Hair Cuts

Murad Transforming Skincare

I know of some parents who would spend tons of money on their kids hair and not just cutting and taking care of them but letting them color their hair and cutting them in style that no one does back home.   Hair cuts and coloring are expensive here in this little town and sometimes I wonder how people can afford to style their kids’ hair the way they do.  When I was a kid – we never went for expensive haircuts – so with my kid – I too do not like to bring her to a salon to cut her hair.  But lately, the lady who cuts her hair for $10 – either isn’t available or she doesn’t cut them as well as I want to – so I had no choice but to bring her for a $20 hair cut instead.  What do you as parents think ?  is $20 a hair cut expensive since the kid needs to cut her hair ever 4 – 6 weeks?  I know kids don’t really care about how they look but it is us who are fussy and want to give the best to our kids  – but one thing you can be sure about – is my kid isn’t getting her hair colored till she is in high school – putting lots of chemical in a kid’s head is not really good – if you asked me – it really doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that.

January 13th, 2012New Kid In Town

Murad Transforming Skincare

So we went shopping at the mall after the new year – to find this new nail store opened for business  – now that’s cool – the mall needed something like that – especially for people who loved to shop.  So I tried calling the girlfriend to see if she would meet me at the mall – to check out this new nail place – but my cellphone connection wasn’t that great n the mall – wished they would invest in some cell booster – for folks like myself who needs to get good reception all the time.   There are some blind spots in the mall – and it can get very frustrating.

Anyhow, I finally gave up calling the friend and took a look around the nail place – it’s pretty equipped as you can see here – and a team of Vietnamese people doing the nails and feet.  Their prices are pretty good too – a Pedicure and Manicure is only $45 and they do BIO Gel nails too and Solar Nails and Acrylic Nails.  What i’m looking forward to try is the hug massage chair that comes with your pedicure.  But wait a minute – I’m also worried about hygiene – I certainly don’t want to catch any fungus – but thus far it’s new – so I should go check it out soon.

January 10th, 2012Big Savings On PJs

Murad Transforming Skincare

After living in the West for 12 yrs – I know when to get stuff at the best prices – these PJs were gotten after the Christmas season – and I bought them for a steal !  at $10 for a 2 piece PJs from Joes that regularly goes for $19.99 – $25.99 – that’s a real bargain right?  now if they had more – I would have bought more but I was late  – alas!  But yes – ! if you really want to get good buys at the right prices – watch out for sale on things – why pay more than you should right?  loved new PJs after Christmas!

A blogging friend from New Orleans sent these from New Orleans for New Year – they are body shop gifts that I loved so much.  Thank you so much – June! you are too sweet lah!!  I loved all my body shop gift – from face cream – to home fragrance and even something for Chloe.

10 bottles of cranberry fragrance oil – woohoo!! now that would last me for a year at least.

And 2 bath lilies for Chloe – thank you very much.  I know all the above must have cost you a lot of money – I don’t know how to thank you for your generosity.

January 1st, 2012Skin Care For Kids

Murad Transforming Skincare

Every mom wants to get some kind of skin care for their kids – especially when your kid is a girl.  And since I have a girl – I’m always looking for something to get to slap on her face – to keep her face nice and smooth and to give the skin some moisture – since winter can be real wicked to the skin.  She doesn’t put on sunscreen – and we know she should – so instead I need to look for something that is kid friendly.

I know that this is an Australian brand if I am not wrong.  And as you can see here – the prices are a little bit more expensive than other products that you find in the market but it’s worth it because they are specially prepared for kid’s skin – gentle on them.  But alas , they don’t have one specifically for the face – now that’s a real bummer!  They have bubble baths – daily tonic for hair – even lice remover !  but nothing for the face alone!  and free shipping from well.ca – if you buy online!  but why buy online when you can buy it locally right?  so check out your local store first.

Yes! you won’t see me in town this Christmas – we are heading to the South to get some warm and the sun. The hotel we are staying in provides everything – it’s the all inclusive type of vacation but we are not bringing our kids because we are going to be spending a lot of time at the pool.  When she is older we will bring her a long – but if only the hotel had a  pool gate – i bet all my girlfriends would bring their kids with them.  You know when you are on a vacation – you don’t want to be worrying about the kids falling into the pool right?  so we rather be safe than be sorry – our homes have pool gates when our kids were young – so such a big hotel – I would say it would be really nice if they do it with the big people’s pool.  But anyhow – we are heading to the south for the New Year but only 7 days – see you when we come back.

December 22nd, 2011Year End Goodies For Myself

Murad Transforming Skincare

Yes ! I had to buy myself something right to end the year with something good as everyone tells me – and since I loved handbags so much – I had to get this Marc Jacobs Tangramarama Sam Tote.  What a name right?  yes!  long and weird but I loved the look of the handbag.  Made of leather and suede – this handbag cost me about $500 – I know it’s a lot of money – but compared to my LV crazed years – this is nothing.

The other goodie that I bought was this Bow Clutch by J. Crew for less than $50 – it’s on discount – and who can resist a bow clutch – goes with any of my evening wear and cocktail parties even for housewarming.
