This is dream prom dress I want for my daughter when she goes for her first prom – isn’t this pretty or what? I saw it on a show - Something by design the name of the show – Jane by design – the spouse told me a minute ago. When I was younger – my mother would never think of buying such an expensive prom dress for me. All my previous prom dresses were make shift ones – or borrowed ones because my school friends would take pity on me for not being able to afford to buy one to attend the prom – so they would loan me one of theirs from a previous years so that I can go.
So when my daughter goes for her first real prom – I’m going to get a nice dress but of course, I’m not going to go crazy and get her a $1000 prom dress. I want a big puffy dress for her and a classy one. What about you – ? what was your dream prom dress?
I think the best spa that I’ve been to – are the ones that has the best atmosphere with soothing music and great decor. Nothing beats the environment of the spa – like they say – the first impression is the most important and a good spa needs to have not only the best masseur but also a lot of other combination. I know that some spa uses some professional soundcraft mixers for their music like the hotel that I used to work for to produce the best music for the entire hotel. The concept is simple – they feel that the music in the spa/hotel makes the customer/s feels at ease immediately when they walk into the spa/hotel, thus enjoying the experience they have at the spa/hotel. So when you go for your spa treatment – you not only pay for your treatment but the whole experience – therefore, some spa charges more and some spa less. I wouldn’t mind paying more if it means relaxation during the time I’m at the spa – after all, you don’t get an hour or two to space every day right?
I don’t know about you but I do have a special friendship with my hairstylist, my esthetician and also my manicurist. Yes, I go to different people to do different things – so that I will get the best service out of them and spread the money around. But when you have a friend who loves chocolates like the spouse – you need to get some really special gift. So when my manicurist invited me for her 30th birthday – I went looking for a 30th birthday gift for chocoholics and my gift was definitely a hit with everyone. I only liked to get gifts that the birthday person would like – so I was really glad I found something she liked and that was chocolate!!! now how hard was it right? but nope I had to get her some special chocolates that she would absolutely loved and I turned to one place I know where. It was easy to order online and they had just the perfect chocolate gift for my special friendship with my manicurist.
Winter sucks for my skin – they get so dry – it’s just ugly – but not until i started using shea butter and found out about shea butter benefits and I never turned back. I loved the feel of my skin after using shea butter – and it last almost the entire day – my skin has improved a lot since using them. But I hear that the unprocessed ones are the best – especially for those who are pregnant and worried about stretch marks. I’m considering using them for my feet as well – because if you’ve seen my feet – you will know how dry and flaky they looked. So for those who have dry skin like mine – check out shea butter – they are really great on dry skin, hair and also blemishes/wrinkles.
So I haven’t been to my regular spa for a few weeks now and found out that they did a little renovation work and a lot of their furniture had been refurbished and I also am impressed with some of the leather seat repair kit they had gotten to do some of their refurbished stuff. So as i sat at the spa waiting for my esthetician and looking around at what they had done for the spa – I was quite motivated and want to do the same for my home as well. We have quite a few leather furniture that could use as little touch up and shine – for everything looked so comfy now at the spa – it’s like almost new. Very inspiring I told the spouse – and with the leather repair kit – I’m sure I can do it myself too.
It seems like forever since I had gone for a pedicure and even though there were some new places sprouting out around town – I still went back to my trustee esthetician because I didn’t want to get a foot fugal or something like that. It’s always so relaxing here and I liked my esthetician a lot because she is non- judgemental.
Love the decor and she has a very nice view from where I am sitting.

And there you go – all nice and scrubbed and exfoliated and filed down. So hopefully, this time I remember to take care of my feet and go for a pedicure every month – so that my feet don’t look like shit.
So I first read about Jacqueline Koh from Singapore who had 10 plastic surgery to look like an anime character and she wasn’t even into anime. And then she had to have fillers like the above youtube video – oouchh! That must be quite expensive in the long run and very painful too. I really wouldn’t take a needle unless my life depended on it but here we have someone who is so brave to be undergoing all these pain in the name of ? beauty?
I really have nothing against plastic surgery – but mannn.. !!! these girls sure have a good threshold for pain – for I can’t imagine going thru’ all these to look good. But wait a minute – if without the fillers and you look like the below – does that mean that you are dependent on the fillers forever?
Can her spouse accept it – does it sound so plastic ? nothing against anyone doing it again – but I’m just thinking for myself – wouldn’t all these fillers and plastic surgery have some kind of after effect in the future? Wow! life must be more than just that right? but to each her own I guess and power to Jacqueline Koh for doing all of her surgery and I wish her good luck.
Bridal parties are so fun and I had the privileged of organizing one for my bestie not too long ago – and I was asked to do it for another friend next week. I’ve decided on a spa party – since it would not only be fun – it was something we all needed before the wedding. From pedicure to manicure and a facial – we were all ready to go – except for some special music for the party. But no worries, the spouse has a tascam cd-rw900sl that can burn whatever songs we need – and mix the cd for us from our original cd or the ones we bought from iTunes.
The bridal party is like 3 days before the wedding – because I want to make sure that the bride and the rest of the bridesmaids and maid of honor have time to rest and relax before the big day. I ordered some champagne and wine from Annapolis Valley and Lunenburg and the rest will be taken care of by the spa. Our local spa will be semi closed during the evening to give the party of 6 a spa manicure and pedicure – but the bride gets a facial and a body scrub with steam bath. Now if the rest of the girls want extra stuff done – they can of course – but they are paying for it themselves. There will be finger sandwiches and a salad and lots of fruits and sparkling water during the bridal party. No, no strippers – hahahha!
A month ago, when I was at the spa waxing my eyebrows and my upper lips, my esthetician told me about the re-elasticizing mask, she said that this mask is so good for me – and that I should try it. Apparently, this mask can be added to the to target facial and it provides optimum hydration, calms and soothes, lifts and firms wit results lasting for 5 – 7 days. Good for all skin types – and even sensitive skin – I’m going to try it out this week and will let you know how I find it. It’s an extra $20 on top of whatever facial you have – and if it says it can do what it should do – I’m happy to spend that extra $20.
Beauty sleep is very important to not only one’s health but your skin as well. I was so tired last night I went to bed at midnite and only got up at 8 am – to send the kid to school – and yet I didn’t get a good rest. Friends tell me that it’s my mattress and that a mattress store los angeles has the kind of mattress that would do good for my sleep. If I was in Los Angeles – it would have been perfect but since I’m not – I wonder too if there is anywhere that carries the same kind of mattress that this store in los angeles carries. I also hear that the mattress at the Los Angeles store is 30 – 50% cheaper than other mattresses – now that i an awesome deal eh. I really do need to change my mattress – our mattress is about 7 years old and it was supposed to last longer but I wake up with backache all the time for the last few months and that’s not good at all. Getting a good sleep is very important for keeping me beautiful and a woman needs her beauty rest – I don’t want any back pain nor eye luggages.
