After living in the West for 12 yrs – I know when to get stuff at the best prices – these PJs were gotten after the Christmas season – and I bought them for a steal ! at $10 for a 2 piece PJs from Joes that regularly goes for $19.99 – $25.99 – that’s a real bargain right? now if they had more – I would have bought more but I was late – alas! But yes – ! if you really want to get good buys at the right prices – watch out for sale on things – why pay more than you should right? loved new PJs after Christmas!
I wanted to get the t-max brand insulated vest this year – for winter because it would go well with my t-max insulated jacket I had bought last year. I wished they had this color for the jacket but mine is gray/black in color. The only reason why I loved the t-max is because it is so light – yet keeps you really warm. Unlike the bulky winter wear I’m used to when I first came to Canada – this brand of winter clothing I highly recommend. I told the spouse – I’m all set this winter – with a t-max insulated vest and a jacket. I know it’s a lot more than your usual vest – but it was worth every penny that I had spend on it.
Every year we buy my father-in-law some outdoor work clothes fit for winter and this is what I am getting for him this Christmas – and overall! Yes! he needs it because he works out in the woods during the winter – chopping down wood for fireplaces and other stuff that he needs for the camp. And it’s not just ordinary winter outdoor clothes that I need to get for him – I need to get him some really warm ones to keep him really warm – because he can be out there for a good few hours during winter. I like the carhartt work clothes that were introduce to me by a friend online and the pricing is about right. I like that the overall is 100% nylon quilted to polyester arctic-weight lining – that means that he is save outdoors with it – for at least 4 hrs. So I’m happy with my choice this year - now some warm fleece headwear – and we will all be set for presents for my father-in-law.

I love lace and even in the winter – there is no reason why one can’t wear lace underneath those thick clothing that you need to protect yourself from the cold. I may be 46 but I sure don’t want to look frumpy and dowdy – I still want to look as fashionable as I can. So besides eating right and exercising – I also indulge in facials, a good hair cut and highlights every now and then. I don’t believe in letting yourself go – once you are married and with children - and never worn a pajamas to work like some people around here. And I’m not against top weight loss pills if anyone needs it because some people are really overweight – if you asked me and they don’t do nothing about it. Whenever I put on a pound or two I feel so clumsy and lethagic – so I don’t know how these people do it – how do one go about doing their household chores with so much weight. So even at 46 I’m still looking my best and plan to stay this way as long as I lived.
We went to visit a relative who was in one of those bipolar rehab treatment centers to give her the support she needed – so she didn’t feel like we left her there – and not care for her. But I didn’t want to be overly dressed nor under dressed – because one have to be careful – not to make her feel bad or anything at all – it’s not about us – it’s about her. So I opted to dress casually like the above picture – and it went pretty well. I’m just glad that she is getting the help she needs – and showing the support that she needed – after all she is family and what are families for right? Some people think that without proper treatment – they expect the other person to get well – out of sheer determination – but you and I know it’s not true – something like that needs professional help and there shouldn’t be any shame in getting one. It takes a braver person to admit that you need help.
So we are going to have a BBQ on labor day at the store – in conjunction with our store’s anniversary – I had actually planned it for this week but decided to postpone it . I think having it on labor day would be better because more people can attend. But what do I wear as a host for the BBQ. I don’t want to be too dressy – nor do i want to dress up like a slob – plus I hope it will be hot that day. So this was what I chose from Roots. I love the squarish neckline of this tunic and I can roll up my sleeves if it gets too hot. The tunic is at $30 from Roots, Canada.
So I have a dinner date coming up – and I didn’t know what to wear – it was dinner with a long time friend and her spouse. I didn’t want to be too glamorous nor do i want to under-dress – but a friend who have great dress sense showed me this picture – I just was really impressed – casual yet pretty sexy and good enough to go just about anywhere. So yes – dressing up for dinner – just needed a little inspiration.
While many people think that summer is really hot here in the summer – it’s far from the truth – it turns cold really quick when the sun is down – or when there is no sun. So this week I bought 2 really nice light sweater from local brand – Reitman – and they were on sale ! whoohoo!! Love my new sweaters and wished they had more colors – i would have bought others. At $27 a piece – you can’t really go wrong eh.
If only I was 20 years younger – I would buy this dress in a heartbeat – but those who loved fashionable and trendy handmade dresses – here is one you have to look at to admire. The front of the dress is a classic high neckline and it has 2 pockets and vintage inspired buttons. Definitely adorable! for $150 – can be found on Etsy.
