Bridal parties are so fun and I had the privileged of organizing one for my bestie not too long ago – and I was asked to do it for another friend next week. I’ve decided on a spa party – since it would not only be fun – it was something we all needed before the wedding. From pedicure to manicure and a facial – we were all ready to go – except for some special music for the party. But no worries, the spouse has a tascam cd-rw900sl that can burn whatever songs we need – and mix the cd for us from our original cd or the ones we bought from iTunes.
The bridal party is like 3 days before the wedding – because I want to make sure that the bride and the rest of the bridesmaids and maid of honor have time to rest and relax before the big day. I ordered some champagne and wine from Annapolis Valley and Lunenburg and the rest will be taken care of by the spa. Our local spa will be semi closed during the evening to give the party of 6 a spa manicure and pedicure – but the bride gets a facial and a body scrub with steam bath. Now if the rest of the girls want extra stuff done – they can of course – but they are paying for it themselves. There will be finger sandwiches and a salad and lots of fruits and sparkling water during the bridal party. No, no strippers – hahahha!
So we went shopping at the mall after the new year – to find this new nail store opened for business – now that’s cool – the mall needed something like that – especially for people who loved to shop. So I tried calling the girlfriend to see if she would meet me at the mall – to check out this new nail place – but my cellphone connection wasn’t that great n the mall – wished they would invest in some cell booster – for folks like myself who needs to get good reception all the time. There are some blind spots in the mall – and it can get very frustrating.
Anyhow, I finally gave up calling the friend and took a look around the nail place – it’s pretty equipped as you can see here – and a team of Vietnamese people doing the nails and feet. Their prices are pretty good too – a Pedicure and Manicure is only $45 and they do BIO Gel nails too and Solar Nails and Acrylic Nails. What i’m looking forward to try is the hug massage chair that comes with your pedicure. But wait a minute – I’m also worried about hygiene – I certainly don’t want to catch any fungus – but thus far it’s new – so I should go check it out soon.
Yes! you would never read about me shopping at a Hardware store unless it is during Christmas – for the outlaws loved do stuff with their hands – such as logging wood or repairing their trucks or RV. This year – the brother-in-law had helped us fixed our truck – as it had a hole near the oil tank – so we are very grateful – and we figured we should get him a good Christmas present this year – and after looking at some miller welding helmets I decided it would be a good investment to get one for him too. So when I do need his help in future – I don’t have to feel bad about it. Hahaha!! another smart shopping decision.
We went weekend shopping not to make me look beautiful but to make my house look beautiful. The days was pretty nice out – so the spouse insisted on getting that petroleum hose to fix up the basement. We spent almost 2 hrs shopping for tools and other stuff needed for the basement and although I am not fond of shopping for tools – it’s one day of the week that we can go shop together – and it doesn’t always have to be about me right. And it’s quite fascinating to learn about hydraulic hose and different hose – they even have a teflon hose. I wonder if they are the same as our teflon frying pan? Of course, one can find rubber hose here too – pretty amazing store – and of course – any guy would love to go in and explore. Oh well, next weekend will be my turn to pick wherever I want to go shopping.
We were invited to a spa party for my kid’s classmate’s birthday and like many parents here – we don’t only have one kid and there is just no way to bring one kid and leave the rest of the kids at home. So the spa also catered to the boys /kids that were brought along with their sisters – by providing gaming computers for those who needed to tag along with their sisters. And I can see that it was a huge relieved for the moms who had to be there to supervised the some 15 kids. There wasn’t a lot of computers at the spa – but it was enough for the boys/kids that had to stay – to amuse themselves. Now if only Starbucks and the local cafe had some gaming computers tuck aside in a private corners, so that moms having their break – or lunch can have a proper sit down – that would be great – don’t you think. After all, investing in a few gaming computers – will go a long way – to get more parents to come and enjoy their lunch or spa – now that’s a good idea.
So I went shopping with the spouse – 2 weeks ago – just a week before Christmas and I told myself I’m going to shop like a man to impress him. And he was impressed – coz’ we got all our Christmas shopping done within 4 hrs and had time to sit down for a good but late lunch. How? well, I knew exactly what I wanted to get for everyone – even the most difficult person in the family – my brother-in-law – I got him and the father-in-law hunting binoculars as deer season is round the corner. And I didn’t even bargain and tried to make the spouse go to another store to check out the prices – when i saw the first one – and the price was reasonable – i told the sales clerk to just pack it up. The same for the rest of the presents we had to get friends and family – so it was definitely a very productive day – that sunday. The spouse said that I should shop like a man more often – bah!
While I mostly get gadgets for the boys – this year – my nieces are asking for a htc sense – I’m sure you wonder what it is too? I too asked the same question hahah! so don’t feel bad. Looks like a boy’s phone eh – but nope according to the nieces – it’s a girl’s phone too. But this smartphone is like a high end gadget right now for them – with blue tooth capabilities and all. One can even watch movies and you tube on it – so I’m also assuming you can browse the web and go check your emails? and Facebook as well? The screen is quite big for a phone and I like the keyboard which are good enough for a boy too. Yes! girls love their gadgets too!
While practicality was the main intention when I first got my first snow boots – I think it is high time to get a fashionable and an up to date looking snow boots this winter. And for those who are not from a cold, cold country – get the ones that are higher then your ankles – because some snow storm can be wicked and you want to keep your feet dry!
So while the spouse when to get his micrometers from his supplier – I told him I wanted to go hunting for snow boots. The above were what I saw in the mall – but I finally chose a practical one – yet fashionable one. Made of leather of course but not so expensive – it doesn’t say how warm it will keep my feet but i figured I wouldn’t be out walking in the cold that long either – so this will do for now. But for those who takes public transport to work or need to walk a lot – then you should make sure you get a warm boots.
This was my dream car for a long, long time – but i guess as you grow older – you kinda stay away from anything pink – else people might think you wanna hang on to your youth too much – hahah!! But yes ! i’m looking for a used car to ferry my kids to school. I’m not looking for an expensive car - but the car definitely has to be in good working condition and small – because gas here is very expensive. I figured it shouldn’t cost too much to insure a used car – unlike a new car – I think you need to insure for collision too. So if i buy a used car at a reasonable price and insure it for a few hundred dollars a year that would be ideal – and i don’t have to worry about waiting for the spouse to ferry us around. Looking online on carinsurancelist.com to get a quote was what was recommended by another friend – that way I can kinda get a price range – and then speak with someone about it. So yes! wish me luck – as soon as I get my car insurance – i’m getting a car – albeit a used one.
I haven’t bought a Swatch watch for so long – 10 yrs to be exact – i used to love them and was crazy over them – so while doing some muscle milk reviews and the spouse showed me some that was on sale online – i couldn’t helped but wanna get them. But guess what ? you can’t buy them online if you are in Canada – they have e-stores for USA and delivers to USA but not to Canada!!! why?? oh why..??? Easter is round the corner and I wanted to get the below for my daughter – but now i guess it has to wait till we are next in Toronto – or at the airport with a Swatch counter. The best thing about Swatch watches are they are not too, too expensive and anyone can afford one – gotta love that!
