For those who’ve never heard about dry shampoo – check out Satin Sugar from Cake – this is for the busy girl – who needs a bit of lift and refreshing on the hair.  I know I always need this because my hair gets oily so fast – it’s crazy!  $18 – put some on your palm – lightly brush them into your hair – it absorbs the oil – and give it not only a fresh look but a fresh smell.  So why 2 colors – you asked?  one is for the darker hair and the other for lighter hair.  I have to buy the darker one – because I have black hair – I wonder if it will work for black hair or not – I will let you know for  I’m buying this from Cakebeauty.com

So I was told by my mom to brush my hair daily – or at least 100 times before I go to bed  – so that my hair will look shiny the next day and to keep my hair healthy.  I was doing it for the longest time – only to find out that it is not true.  you see – brushing one’s hair pulls hair out of their follicles and thus – it will weaken the hair strands – so instead of having a headful of shiny hair – i may loose a lot of hair if I continue.  So ladies – check your facts – before you listen to your mom’s old wives tales – but I’m sure she meant well.

So i got my hair colored again – but this time a more bolder color – and all because there were a few whites showing – tell me how vain am I – hahah! but can you blame me – at 46 – you don’t really want to show whites so soon right – but alas, time is not kind to me – so I have to do what I know best – and to color my hair. My new hair color looked similar to the above – you like it?

My hair gets greasy after just 1.5 days of washing it – and sometimes I get so busy I really have no time to jump into the shower just before work – so what do one do? well, usually i just go to work with dirty hair and hope that the people I meet that day won’t notice it so much.  But having said that – I feel horrid – almost like I have a very low self-esteem walking around with limpy and greasy hair.  But not anymore soon – hahahha!!  i have a secret!  but I am going to test it out first before I tell you if it works.  I read about this dry shampoo – at $24 a bottle – pretty expensive – but definitely beats going for a shampoo at the hair salon when you don’t have the time to enjoy the shampoo right?  so yes! i’m going to go out and get this tomorrow and try it out.   The above is called the  Naturia Dry Shampoo- it not only cleans your hair – it leaves your hair with vitamins as well ! woohoo!!  lightly scented – i like and it absorbs all the oil on your head and hair.  Wish me luck while I go hunt this down tomorrow at the local pharmacy.  If I can’t get it – amazon has some.

For the longest time – I let my hair stylist do what they want with my bangs – but I come out looking like a – uummhhhmm – i wouldn’t say stupid looking – but plain.  And I don’t like that at all – I mean come on – I already have such a simple cut each time and cutting one’s hair at a salon ain’t cheap at all – at least $35 – tips included.  So when I saw an article on bangs that fit your face – i looked it up and told my hair stylist what I wanted for my bangs.  I loved it !  For a square face like mine – I need choppy bangs apparently – and a good thing I told my new hair stylist – because she wasn’t really sure either – and seeing the way she cut my bangs yesterday – well I know she doesn’t do it that often either.   So yes! make sure you check out what fits your face before getting your hair stylist to chop it off eh.

I love my straight hair and I feel that it does make me look younger – had i permed my hair – I think I would definitely looked like an “aunty”.  But I could never make my hair as shiny as her – or anyone that I know who have long hair – my hair just looks dull in comparison with other people with straight and long hair.  So I went on a mission, in search to look how to make my hair shiny.

Thought I would share with you what I found – creating shinier hair is easy when you go to a hair salon – and they blow dry your hair with gel and sprays – no problem with that – but how many of us – can go to a hair salon every day – or even every other day.  It’s not only expensive but time consuming as well.  But there is a way – that you can do it by using cool air.  Cool air?  i hear you shouting out loud – haha!! yup!  I hear that cool air helps to reduce static and any frizz in your hair  – but of course – I’m not asking you to stick your head in the cold and wait for some cold hair to come about.  You just need a hair dryer with a cold setting and a cold burst option if possible.  Dry your hair with a medium dry heat and then using cool air on your setting – finish drying the rest of your hair.  There you go – you can have shinier hair too.  I tried it and I really think it works – try it out yourself and let me know eh.

I used to have more hair on the top than that – but I’ve been steadily losing my hair.  Yes! it’s darn scary – and I’ve also noticed that my hair loss was a lot worst after having my daughter.  But after my fibroid operation some 2 years ago – I am not losing that much hair.  But still the bald patch can be quite daunting to most woman.

But they say that losing up to 100 strands of hair per day, roughly enough hair to cover your shower drain, is considered healthy and normal.   And even though they said that the longer the hair the thinner it will look and feel – I still think that I’ve gone from two pony tail to one only left.  It is also said that stress can caused hair lost and I’ve been having stress for many years now.  But one thing for sure – I’m not going to color my hair so often – because that is one cause  – for losing more hair.  I wished they had some kind of hair tonic I can use – but I’ve never found any yet.  I’ll keep checking and in the meantime – try not to stress too much.

So you all know that I had my hair colored a few days ago – and i had rushed off because it took like almost 2 hrs if i was not wrong – and the stylist was busy too – she had people coming in.  Anyhow – i knew i had to get something for the color – since this time unlike the last one – i had it done a lot more visible and a lot more coloring.  So after reading about the   side effects of diet pills for my niece -  a few days later – i had gone over to get this.

Supposedly, not so expensive – it comes with a conditioner and fruity in smell – this is a color treatment shampoo that replenishes strength, elasticity and shine by restoring protein and moisture depleted by coloring and chemical processing.  I tried it yesterday and it was light with very low PH formula that is said to seal the cuticle to lock in the moisture and protien in colored and chemically treated hair.   So far i feel ok -  my hair feels ok – and even though it was $22 – I think it was money well – spent.
