Some things you can’t go cheap – just like the pearls that I’ve had for the longest time.  Why did i choose Mikimoto every asked me – since other brand of pearls are just as good.   I chose Mikimoto because my grandmother used to buy from them – and they are all over the world and are guaranteed for life.   I love my jewellery simple too and even though they are very expensive – i think it’s worth it because my mikimoto traveled with me all over the world.  When i was younger – i thought it made me look more elegant but now i know that a Mikimoto is for any ages – even my daughter who is only 6.5 yrs old is making claim on it already.  Do you like pearls?  if you do – when did you start buying them?

I started buying Swarovski stuff  when i started working – but back home – i had prefer gold to crystal.  Unfortunately being in Canada for this long – i cannot find the kind of gold I like – they are often only 10K gold and to me – that’s not good enough – not meaning to sound like a snob. So the next best thing to buy that is worth my while are Swarovski crystal and I buy them like  vitamins is to my health – I can’t get enough of it.

We don’t have a Swarovski where I lived – so when i found one in the city – it was exhilarating and I can’t get enough of it – we did get a necklace for my kid – but i didn’t see anything i wanted.  The Emblema ring that i was eyeing on didn’t look that good on my fingers – you see I’ve got fat fingers.  Anyhow – if you are looking for a Swarovski – there is one in the Halifax Shopping Center.

A few days ago, I had written that Swarovski USA & Australia is having a 50% sale  – that kind upsetted me because me and my girlfrriends because we love Swaroski crystal very much.  So I wrote to Swarovski and they in turned replied that I can look out for in store sale with individual stores selling Swarovski crystal instead – like the nordictrack incline trainer that one can buy and save $75.   So anyhow, this morning – or rather – i had been check out the local jewelry stores .. and finally found one that was on sale at $35 instead of the $49 – so i bought it right away for my kid of course.  I’m starting a collection for her young.

I can’t seems to get enough of Swarovski and when i saw that Swarovski has a sale up to 50% i was ecstatic – but wait a minute – it’s only for USA, Australia and Europe.  Bummer!  so Canada is not included nor other parts of Asia and Japan.   So here I go getting a quick trim burn and cleanse online and scheming on how to get this ring at 50% off it’s original price of $260 – and remembered my good friend in the States.  So I asked her if she would get it for me and have it shipped to her and when she is down in Canada – she can bring it back to me.  Now smart eh..?? hahahah!!!   So yes  – shipping is free in the States if you buy above $95 – and even if you are in Asia.. and you  have someone coming back home for Chinese New Year – you know what to do.  It’s great to have friends in USA.

Truth be told I’m a gold kinda person.. and only believed in investing in gold.  Guess it is the influenced from the forefathers? Anyhow, I’m guessing being older doesn’t make me look any better hanging like a Christmas tree with gold ornaments.. hahah!!!  even my life insurance rate will get higher .. if i didn’t start early.  At $250, this stainless steel hinged bangle with clear Crystal Mesh and silver calfskin leather adds a touch of sophisticated gloss to any outfit. Crazy about hand made stuff lately, I ordered one of this bracelet for my daughter’s kaimah in Japan.  I know she will like this.. since they are made of such unique purple color stones and antique brass charm.

Materials

I bought these hand made pearl river bangle for my daughter’s kai mah.. and they are made by another blogging friend of mine.. who is very talented as you can see.  Not only is she smart with her hands.. she is very, very smart in general.

Made with rows and rows of Phuket freshwater pearls, coiled with gold-filled wire on a gold bangle, all handmade.  Size of this bangle can be adjusted as it is flexible enough to be opened wider to fit larger wrists or narrowed to fit smaller wrists by interlocking the clasps.  Measurement: 6cm (2.6″ in diametre when opened), 5.5cm (2.1″ in diametre when interlocked), 2cm (height)
