Bridal parties are so fun and I had the privileged of organizing one for my bestie not too long ago – and I was asked to do it for another friend next week. I’ve decided on a spa party – since it would not only be fun – it was something we all needed before the wedding. From pedicure to manicure and a facial – we were all ready to go – except for some special music for the party. But no worries, the spouse has a tascam cd-rw900sl that can burn whatever songs we need – and mix the cd for us from our original cd or the ones we bought from iTunes.
The bridal party is like 3 days before the wedding – because I want to make sure that the bride and the rest of the bridesmaids and maid of honor have time to rest and relax before the big day. I ordered some champagne and wine from Annapolis Valley and Lunenburg and the rest will be taken care of by the spa. Our local spa will be semi closed during the evening to give the party of 6 a spa manicure and pedicure – but the bride gets a facial and a body scrub with steam bath. Now if the rest of the girls want extra stuff done – they can of course – but they are paying for it themselves. There will be finger sandwiches and a salad and lots of fruits and sparkling water during the bridal party. No, no strippers – hahahha!

A blogging friend from New Orleans sent these from New Orleans for New Year – they are body shop gifts that I loved so much. Thank you so much – June! you are too sweet lah!! I loved all my body shop gift – from face cream – to home fragrance and even something for Chloe.

10 bottles of cranberry fragrance oil – woohoo!! now that would last me for a year at least.

And 2 bath lilies for Chloe – thank you very much. I know all the above must have cost you a lot of money – I don’t know how to thank you for your generosity.

Every mom wants to get some kind of skin care for their kids – especially when your kid is a girl. And since I have a girl – I’m always looking for something to get to slap on her face – to keep her face nice and smooth and to give the skin some moisture – since winter can be real wicked to the skin. She doesn’t put on sunscreen – and we know she should – so instead I need to look for something that is kid friendly.

I know that this is an Australian brand if I am not wrong. And as you can see here – the prices are a little bit more expensive than other products that you find in the market but it’s worth it because they are specially prepared for kid’s skin – gentle on them. But alas , they don’t have one specifically for the face – now that’s a real bummer! They have bubble baths – daily tonic for hair – even lice remover ! but nothing for the face alone! and free shipping from well.ca – if you buy online! but why buy online when you can buy it locally right? so check out your local store first.

Yes! you won’t see me in town this Christmas – we are heading to the South to get some warm and the sun. The hotel we are staying in provides everything – it’s the all inclusive type of vacation but we are not bringing our kids because we are going to be spending a lot of time at the pool. When she is older we will bring her a long – but if only the hotel had a pool gate – i bet all my girlfriends would bring their kids with them. You know when you are on a vacation – you don’t want to be worrying about the kids falling into the pool right? so we rather be safe than be sorry – our homes have pool gates when our kids were young – so such a big hotel – I would say it would be really nice if they do it with the big people’s pool. But anyhow – we are heading to the south for the New Year but only 7 days – see you when we come back.

So I saw a launch by some actress in Hong Kong for Clinique’s Dark Spot Corrector and am dying to try it. I saw a u-tube presentation by the above – and she said she wasn’t really thrilled thus far about the result but haven’t yet seen any more updates about it. For those who’ve tried this – please leave a comment – for a $48 is not really as cheap and aging gracefully and beautifully is my aim. So if it helps with dark spots I wanna buy it – but if it doesn’t I don’t want to waste my time.

I asked my girlfriend who is an expert with skin care about skin care for kids – after all I want to keep my kid’s skin healthy and soft right? and with winter here – I have to be a lot more vigilant with her skin. So I was told by my girlfriend that using a mild organic cleanser for her skin is a good thing and that sunscreen is a must even in winter. And moisturizing their skin is a must because of the hard winter wind. So she said to try either Earth’s Best, California Baby, Badger Balm, Dr Bronner, or Earth Mama Angel Baby Organics and anything that has the USDA label.

The California Baby Calendula Everyday lotion may be the one I am getting since I found it online and can order them from online – but I will check with the local mall and see if they too have it. Thus far, I have been using Aveeno and Johnson’s baby lotion but since she is already 8 yrs old – I thought maybe she needs something stronger? Do not use those that are stated for adults because they will be too strong for your kid’s face/skin.

Now at first I thought it was some wrinkle stick for your eye bags but I was wrong – it’s like a concealer – a treatment concealer that’s what they are saying and it erases crease and under eye puffiness and dark circles. I was hoping that it’s more like a cream – but it’s not as you can see – and with sponge like this – wouldn’t it just clog up after using it the first time? It’s not expensive – at $12.99 + tax of course – but I really can’t see the benefit of just a concealer – so for now – I’m just going to wait.

We went to visit a relative who was in one of those bipolar rehab treatment centers to give her the support she needed – so she didn’t feel like we left her there – and not care for her. But I didn’t want to be overly dressed nor under dressed – because one have to be careful – not to make her feel bad or anything at all – it’s not about us – it’s about her. So I opted to dress casually like the above picture – and it went pretty well. I’m just glad that she is getting the help she needs – and showing the support that she needed – after all she is family and what are families for right? Some people think that without proper treatment – they expect the other person to get well – out of sheer determination – but you and I know it’s not true – something like that needs professional help and there shouldn’t be any shame in getting one. It takes a braver person to admit that you need help.

I’m never lazy when it comes to exfoliating my face but that’s another story when it comes to exfoliating my body. Why? because the body is a lot bigger area and sometimes – a quick shower is what i can afford. Well, that was until I tried this FarmHouse Fresh Fine sugared Maple Body Scrub – costing like $23 – which is not bad at all for body scrubs – even the body shop’s body scrub cost more – and this one comes with s scoop – that way – you don’t have to put in your dirty fingers or leave water into the bottle of scrub. And you will smell so sweet – you want to do it all over again – the next time you shower. I still don’t find a lot of time scrubbing but I do try to do it more often than I used to.

I had gone for a facial a few days ago – and it was great – it was so relaxing – but when i got back – i realized that my nose had black heads still. So i called the esthetician up and asked for another half a session the following day – for I didn’t want to walk around with ugly black heads on my nose. The half a facial as i called it – lasted for 45mins – and it cost $45 + tax and tips of course – but I also found out that it wasn’t really black heads that I had – they were little fine hairs that appeared after I had my full hysterectomy – which the esthetician suspected. She was quite worried about how she should tell me – so as to not offend me i guess – but I already suspected – but thought they had to do with my black heads – so it was fine hair – now we all know. hhaha!
