Some say what you don’t know – won’t kill you – haha! but that’s not true because for a diabetic like myself – I was shocked to read that some manicurist or beautician don’t clean their equipment the way they should. The law does not require them to keep up their hygienic standards – so they will not be closed down if they did not sterilized their equipments properly.
Equipment not cleaned properly can caused you a lot of grieve in the future because bacteria is passed from one person to another with the file being used or the pumice stones. Bad sanitization practice by nail technician can caused you to be sick and you won’t even know any better. One with diabetes like myself may even loose a toe or a foot.
I’ve never seen a spa turn away customers, so if a customer had fungus on their feet – I bet they would still take them in and work on their feet. Now the worst part is if the person has HIV and his or her skin got cut and blood was left behind on the equipment used on the next session on your feet? highly unlikely you will get anything – because I hear that when it is expose too long in air – it will die but what if it is not? you might get infected too – and not necessary just HIV. Scary right?
Plus the nail polishes that they use to paint your nails – now what about that one ? good think I don’t get them to paint my feet – but I would definitely try and get my own equipment the next time I get my pedicure done – too much risk involved and i really don’t want to get sick since I’m diabetic.
A vietnamese nail salon that my babysitter used to go to – often nicks her fingers and the skin around it – now that is so dangerous because you don’t know what would go into an open wound – therefore i’m glad I don’t go to them. And those foot baths are highly dangerous to use because if they are not cleaned out properly like a place in town that I know – that is a disaster area for your health. Bacteria found in these baths can caused boils, rashes and itchiness forever.
So if you opt to go for a manicure or a pedicure – make sure you choose a reputable spa – and bring your own equipments if possible. Paranoid much – your spouse may be asking – but I say better be safe than sorry right?
Man can be quite oblivious, that’s why I called mine Mr Oblivious many times a week. And I don’t think it’s just because we’ve been together for a long time, I just think he couldn’t care less if I had a new hair cut or if I painted my face orange. It’s not like he doesn’t “care” but like he said, it don’t matter to him.
So ladies, if you are going on a first date – don’t panic – most men don’t even notice a lot of things – and those who does are probably into men and not you. I don’t paint my face – but i think I might just have to a little bit anyway not to look good for him but to look good for myself. I wear a lip gloss instead of lipsticks because I find it such a waste to paint on the lipstick and then it gets left behind on cups and tissue papers – so a darn good lipgloss is always good.
But so you know – putting on some perfume is good for yourself – but the man may not even noticed like mine – but they loved a good clean hair if possible – so no stiffening stuff or gel on hair – coz’ they can’t run their fingers over your hair if they want to get intimate. Other that that – I think you are ok – so don’t go get drastic for your date with a new guy or an old guy that you’ve been with for a long time, dress up for yourself and make up for yourself.
I recently went to a spa in the city because I was up there with some girlfriends and this spa came highly recommended. But what’s most impressive about the spa was its decor – I loved it. I loved the ceiling lights there and I had wanted to ask them where they had gotten them from – but they were so busy I didn’t get a chance. So guess who is going to the spa again next week – just because I need to find out where they got their ceiling lights. I hope to find something on line that was just theirs but am having no luck – so I have to eat humble pie and ask for the information. But as soon as I find it – I will post them up and let you see. I had forgotten to bring my camera – but if you see it – you will know that I was right about the uniqueness of the ceiling lights.
I think the best spa that I’ve been to – are the ones that has the best atmosphere with soothing music and great decor. Nothing beats the environment of the spa – like they say – the first impression is the most important and a good spa needs to have not only the best masseur but also a lot of other combination. I know that some spa uses some professional soundcraft mixers for their music like the hotel that I used to work for to produce the best music for the entire hotel. The concept is simple – they feel that the music in the spa/hotel makes the customer/s feels at ease immediately when they walk into the spa/hotel, thus enjoying the experience they have at the spa/hotel. So when you go for your spa treatment – you not only pay for your treatment but the whole experience – therefore, some spa charges more and some spa less. I wouldn’t mind paying more if it means relaxation during the time I’m at the spa – after all, you don’t get an hour or two to space every day right?
I don’t know about you but I do have a special friendship with my hairstylist, my esthetician and also my manicurist. Yes, I go to different people to do different things – so that I will get the best service out of them and spread the money around. But when you have a friend who loves chocolates like the spouse – you need to get some really special gift. So when my manicurist invited me for her 30th birthday – I went looking for a 30th birthday gift for chocoholics and my gift was definitely a hit with everyone. I only liked to get gifts that the birthday person would like – so I was really glad I found something she liked and that was chocolate!!! now how hard was it right? but nope I had to get her some special chocolates that she would absolutely loved and I turned to one place I know where. It was easy to order online and they had just the perfect chocolate gift for my special friendship with my manicurist.
I haven’t attended many funerals – so when my mother-in-law passed away this morning, I didn’t know what to wear for her funeral. I didn’t want to dress up inappropriately because after all – one has to show their respect by dressing in the right way. So I went hunting for the right blouse, jacket and shoes – how horrid right to have nothing to wear for a funeral. But you can’t really blame me because I loved the bright color clothing and try to wear as happy as possible. I did finally find something that was suitable and not too shabby with the time constraint for the funeral was a few days after the death.
Finding the right type of panties had been a real challenge for me ever since migrating to Canada. In Canada, they don’t carry the same brand that I was used to – like Wacol and Triumph – well, you can order Triumph online – but they don’t have the hikini to sell anymore. I don’t know if they no longer carry this line or that it just isn’t popular here.
I did find some panties I sorta like at Superstore but the top gets torn so easily – and then I saw the Denver Hayes panties at Mark’s Wearhouse. They were more expensive than the ones from Superstore but hey! if it fits – who cares – afterall, the ones I got from Triumph online was more expensive than this. I haven’t tried them on yet – but I’ll let you all know once I’ve – gotta wash them first. Oh I forgot to let you know that I like the high-cut ones – the ones that can cover up your tummy as well to make you look slimmer – and not have your tummy protruding out.
So I haven’t been to my regular spa for a few weeks now and found out that they did a little renovation work and a lot of their furniture had been refurbished and I also am impressed with some of the leather seat repair kit they had gotten to do some of their refurbished stuff. So as i sat at the spa waiting for my esthetician and looking around at what they had done for the spa – I was quite motivated and want to do the same for my home as well. We have quite a few leather furniture that could use as little touch up and shine – for everything looked so comfy now at the spa – it’s like almost new. Very inspiring I told the spouse – and with the leather repair kit – I’m sure I can do it myself too.
So I first read about Jacqueline Koh from Singapore who had 10 plastic surgery to look like an anime character and she wasn’t even into anime. And then she had to have fillers like the above youtube video – oouchh! That must be quite expensive in the long run and very painful too. I really wouldn’t take a needle unless my life depended on it but here we have someone who is so brave to be undergoing all these pain in the name of ? beauty?
I really have nothing against plastic surgery – but mannn.. !!! these girls sure have a good threshold for pain – for I can’t imagine going thru’ all these to look good. But wait a minute – if without the fillers and you look like the below – does that mean that you are dependent on the fillers forever?
Can her spouse accept it – does it sound so plastic ? nothing against anyone doing it again – but I’m just thinking for myself – wouldn’t all these fillers and plastic surgery have some kind of after effect in the future? Wow! life must be more than just that right? but to each her own I guess and power to Jacqueline Koh for doing all of her surgery and I wish her good luck.
Beauty sleep is very important to not only one’s health but your skin as well. I was so tired last night I went to bed at midnite and only got up at 8 am – to send the kid to school – and yet I didn’t get a good rest. Friends tell me that it’s my mattress and that a mattress store los angeles has the kind of mattress that would do good for my sleep. If I was in Los Angeles – it would have been perfect but since I’m not – I wonder too if there is anywhere that carries the same kind of mattress that this store in los angeles carries. I also hear that the mattress at the Los Angeles store is 30 – 50% cheaper than other mattresses – now that i an awesome deal eh. I really do need to change my mattress – our mattress is about 7 years old and it was supposed to last longer but I wake up with backache all the time for the last few months and that’s not good at all. Getting a good sleep is very important for keeping me beautiful and a woman needs her beauty rest – I don’t want any back pain nor eye luggages.
