My girlfriends and us gathered at this special spa that is in town – when one had a special announcement to make to us. She was moving away for a job as Billing/Coding Specialist Jobs were not easy to get in our town – so this was her treat – when the new spa in town opened its doors last month. As sad as we were to see her go – but one has got to do what they got to do right.
So coming back to this special spa in town – it’s a fish spa. Now as popular as it is back home in Asia – I don’t think many of us in the West had been to one here. It was quite fascinating to a lot of people here – for the fish spa is said to do good stuff to your skin. The fish is put in a pool and you put your foot or submerge your entire body into the pool and they nibble off your dead skin. They said it works – so we had to try it – so I hear you asking – did my skin glow? well some dead skins were definitely gone – and would we go again ? well – maybe in a few months – but not anytime soon.
We headed out for high tea after the special spa – and my girlfriend explained how she found this job out of town and that if any of us wanted a career change or seek a job that we can’t find here in town – she can definitely recommend us to this place.
We were invited for an open house recently by our friendly real estate agent – whom we had bought our home from – 7 years ago. The spouse knowing that I love looking at new real estate – went along with me – to see if there was a business opportunity here – an investment for an income home. This was only for the first phase – and we hear that the second phase home comes with steel storm shelters in all the new house and I was quite intrigue by it.
I asked the developer why he thought a storm shelter was necessary in the second phase homes – and he mentioned that we have been getting bad storms of late – and every year they seems to get even worst. So the second phase homes are a new try out with the storm shelters – for those very bad storm and hurricanes. He mentioned that in the city – about 4 hrs away from us – most of his properties has storm shelters now – after Hurricane Juan hit us some years ago. Interesting right? I never thought of a storm shelter for the hurricane and the bad storm we have had here – now we might consider building one for our current home.
Yes! i love to go to open house just for that reason – you never know what you will learn and pick up. Every year – the developers – come up with something new and useful – I also picked up lots of interior decoration designing tips when I go for these open houses.
Halloween is finally over and since we’ve been invited to several Halloween parties – you know what it means right? lots of eating and drinking. There were just too much goodies around – I can’t even stop myself – and then there is a new bakery in town and her cream puffs are to die for – i feel so sinful now. I told the spouse that we have to get me some best appetite suppressant else I won’t be able to fit into my Christmas party dress this December. Perhaps, it’s the old age that is catching up on me – because I can’t seems to get those stubborn fatty weight off whenever i put them on.
Looking at these kids in their Halloween costumes made me think of when I was younger and have no problem gorging down tons of chocolates and donuts – without any problems of losing the weight later.
But one can’t turned back the clock right? so the best way to help keep my weight down – and not eat too much – is to get the appetite suppressant. Gotta admit that I’m getting older.
A few of us girls got together and had high tea at a local restaurant in town – because they had invited a special guest who plays the guitar – classical guitar actually – and we thought it would be a nice Saturday afternoon where we can sit and chat and of course relax. You can also request for songs on the guitar from the musician – who happened to be someone that we were quite thrilled to have – because we’ve heard him play during the Seafest this year. Now after listening to him play – we all wished we could play like him as well. Classical guitar can be so calming – don’t you think but if one really wanted to pick up guitar lessons – you can do so on the web now – pretty awesome if you ask me. The musician did some classical rock as well and i love his finger style – so amazing! Actually we are all so inspired by the afternoon tea with classical music – I think some of us – might just pick up some songs.
Shopping with the girlfriends are the one of the best things I loved to do during the weekends, not only do I get to buy really good things and get good bargains – we also get to sit and have high tea together and chat and relax. I love our high tea sessions because my girlfriends are full of stories about how they make extra money and where they can get the best deals in just about everything. I learned all about morgan silver dollars from one of my best friends from these weekend shopping and high tea sessions. I loved that even though we all come from a small town – we are so up to date in investments and getting the best deals and about wellness. Going for a spa manicure is a must every now and then – but what about those times that we can’t go for a manicure? Well, I try to do it on my own at home – so I’m always on a look out for a good manicure kit for home use. We all know that the dead sea mineral is said to have the best natural and rich ingredient, so I took a look at the dead sea nail kit which contains milk and honey for the nails and hands. It does look like something I could use and we all love honey and milk right – look at Cleopatra – she bathed in milk – of course I won’t have that kind of luxury – but hey – who said i can have some milk and honey on my hands and nails right – hahah!! Shipping is free for those living in USA – like always I wished i lived in the States – but they do ship to Canada as well. Would be a nice Christmas gift for a girlfriend too since it’s currently on sale at $39 – not a bad price and worth thinking about – afterall, who doesn’t like beautiful hands and nails right.
Shopping with my pregnant friends are always fun – I get to do the woos and ahhhs when they picked up cutie stuff for their babies and of course when it comes to shopping for babies – we all know that money is not an issue. The spouses never stops the women from shopping for their baby boy or girl – even the unborn ones – therefore I loved shopping with my pregnant friends. We get to go for high tea and pick up birth announcements cards and what they plan to do for the nursery and of course – eat the cutest sandwiches and scones the hotel can offer. I missed being pregnant and if I could do it all over again I would – but for now – i am going to enjoy all the shopping without having to go thru’ pregnancy blues.
So we were up in the city for a few days – and boy! did i learned something new – you see the spouse just started using his iPhone touch for a gps system and we managed to zoom about everywhere in the city – at the shortest time instead of going round and round finding a spot. With the data plan that he had gotten for our trip – it was worth it because I noticed so much savings on gas as well. No wonder people are so fond of tablet computers these days – and instead of using their notebooks and laptops – the tablets acts as a laptop and netbook but with a data plan that lets you access to the internet from anywhere their is a phone signal – it’s definitely so much more simpler and easier. The spouse with his iPhone touch – was able to read his facebook messages – answer his email and even got onto msn chatline. So I’m not only impressed and intrigue – this unsloppy wife is going to get herself a tablet too – woohoo! The blackberry playbook seems to be a nice one – but there are many options – so I’m going to look around and compare them before getting them.
Getting married is a wonderful thing – but it also cost a lot of money for some people. Some people choose to have a huge wedding – like most of us Asian do but some choose to have simple ones – with very close friends and family. My mother used to say that beauty has a price and it’s true – even the lotions that we put on our faces needs to be bought and paid for. Some of us choose to use branded stuff like Lancome – while others uses Body Shop products and feel very proud of it. But one thing I know for sure is one should only spend within their limit and not do anything that will get them into debt – especially not a wedding. I have no problem with people taking up a payday advance for emergencies or if they needed to put food on the table – or if a child took ill suddenly or if they needed to travel somewhere because a love one is ill. But if you are planning to get married – then it’s a lifetime commitment that should start with a debt. A beautiful wedding need not means lots of money.
I may be 46 but I sure don’t want to look frumpy and dowdy – I still want to look as fashionable as I can. So besides eating right and exercising – I also indulge in facials, a good hair cut and highlights every now and then. I don’t believe in letting yourself go – once you are married and with children - and never worn a pajamas to work like some people around here. And I’m not against top weight loss pills if anyone needs it because some people are really overweight – if you asked me and they don’t do nothing about it. Whenever I put on a pound or two I feel so clumsy and lethagic – so I don’t know how these people do it – how do one go about doing their household chores with so much weight. So even at 46 I’m still looking my best and plan to stay this way as long as I lived.
