While ordering some labels for the kid’s summer camp – I thought I should look up at Kids Birthday Invitations as well – and not wait till the last minute like I always do. I’ve gotten some good ideas now – and the invites starts from as low as $1 and that I can certainly afford – I didn’t want generic cards this time – because she is turning 8 years old this year. I figured a little class is required for an 8 yrs old and maybe her other classmates parents can start making special invites for their kids too. I know mine love nice looking cards a lot and appreciates them. The above is one that I pick for now – but there are many others that one can choose from.
I even tried out the software provided and had a simple card made out for my kid’s invite – having words printed is more expensive but the end result is definitely more professional. I loved it – they look so cute right?
My spouse’s niece came to me the other night and asked me about the best acne remedies – she is a teenager and she hated that she was being teased for her acne on her face and her body. She keeps clean and as hygienic as possible but she is still getting acne – and it is kinda embarrassing for her. She had also started going for expensive facials and it didn’t seems to help at all – so she wants to know my opinion. I re-directed her to some sites that I know and are reputable about acne and told her to stop going for facials because sometimes it aggravates it more than help the acne and acne needs to be treated with special acne cream – or to see a dermatologist which we do not have here in this town. So the next best thing to do is to get the best acne cream that has this money back guaranteed offered online. I feel so bad for her and hope it works for her.
We received a baby girl announcement from Paper Culture baby announcements from a dear friend in SF – and it was a beautiful baby announcement card. I wished I could have done the same for my kid when she was born. But I didn’t know about all this on the internet 7 years ago. Having a baby is such a huge thing for us mummies and had I known about this special announcement cards – I would spare no cost – to announce to the world about my JOY. So I envy my friend and her baby – when I received the special announcement card – and I so loved it. So here I am looking at this beautiful baby and wondering what to get her – and decided that I should get her a skin care basket. What could be more wonderful than to keep a baby skin all smooth and silky soft right? start them young and start them right – my mother used to say.
So we had new teflon hose put in the home for our water heater because our water heater was getting old and we want to make sure that the kids don’t burn their skin while using the shower and to keep the shower safe for everyone. So we were all happy that a new hose had been finally put in after 7 years in this house of ours – as recommended by our contractor. Now I don’t have to worry about the water heater anymore at home – and we can take our shower using our hot water heater from now on – I don’t mind using the old hose – but it is getting out of shape and all – it’s definitely safer now. We were also told that teflon hose are the best – so even though it was a little more expensive – I think it was worth paying for.
Summer is round the corner and I had asked the spouse to transfer some of my exercise equipment into the basement for it is too hot to exercise in the tv room. But he also needed to get some audio video cables so that I can play my aerobics dvd in the basement and do some aerobic or step aerobics. I love a man who knows all about cables or moving things around, I used to know someone who don’t even know how to tune his own VCR – what a shame eh. But if you asked me – I wouldn’t know one cable from another – but I’m a woman – so it’s alright. Shopping for accessories and clothing and even household items I’m the best at it – but when it comes to anything electronic – I leave it to the man.
My girlfriend who has arms like the above picture told me she wants power arms like Jennifer Aniston *sigh* – if only she can see my arms ! she wouldn’t be complaining eh but I guess it’s every woman’s wish to look slim but yet not flabby – and a little muscle cannot do any harm right – plus if you would have seen some of Jenny’s picture – she does have some really good look arms! My girlfriend wants to get the best creatine supplement the ones that body builders uses – for building muscle to aid with her “flabby” arms. I don’t know if they work the same way for woman – but she was going to check with her personal trainer and see what he has gotta say about it. I guess I better start working out on my flabby arms too – just in case she comes for the 20 years reunion next year.
I had gone for a baby shower recently and bought a ergo baby carrier for my girlfriend and her spouse who was having the baby in a month time. The reason why I got them the baby carrier was because I had gone hiking with my neighbors and the husband had carried the baby the whole time while we had gone hiking and he didn’t look uncomfortable or girlish at all. He was at ease with the baby so near to him and it was so sweet – all of us ladies were swooned. So I decided to get one for my girlfriend and encouraged her spouse to use it – and told him the story about how mannn .. my neighbor looked when he was using it. I bought the exact blue color one for them – so he shouldn’t have any excuses about using it – and dark colors are great because you can’t see the dirt on them.
My kid spends Saturdays at her grandparents but at times she doesn’t want to go – because she needs to wash her hair as soon as she gets home – why? both grandparents smoke like a chimney although they don’t smoke in front of her when she is around or in the house. But years of smoking and spending a few hours a week with Grammie sure leaves my kid feeling almost cranky from the smell of the cigarette. So this Easter, we started looking into electronic cig for both grandmother and grandfather – not only can they save money – no more smelly hair and clothing for all of us visiting them.
Seriously, I hope they use the electronic cigarette because we try our darnedest not to visit because we hate the smell of cigarettes and the spouse has asthma and it definitely doesn’t help spending a lot of time with the in-laws. But we need to be sensitive too – since they won’t like the idea – so we are just going to buy it and say that our advertisers sent them to us for reviews – muahahahaha!!! so if you have in-laws like mine – who needs to smoke every 30 minutes – you can do exactly like us.
Shopping in the city is so much fun – besides the many brand of cosmetic that I can choose from – I also develop a people watch habit – in the city. Loving the fact that we don’t have to go back to work – we can just do anything we want – or nothing at all. As I sit and sip my mocha in the cafe – right outside these beauty counters – I cannot help but envy the sales girls/women going about their sales jobs . Did you know that when I was a teenager I wanted to be a beauty product sales girl – why? because they always looked so pretty and smell so nice – with flawless skin. Plus I figured I could sell lots of stuff since I love to chat up people and I do have the gift of the gab and all those lovely products that I can sample and try out.
I don’t know of any woman who loves their wrinkles – I sure don’t – I keep telling the spouse – I need to go for botox – in which he laughed and said he don’t think so. Well, I do ! some woman said their wrinkles tell a story – ahhhh – sorry! i rather tell a story without the wrinkles. While the Asian woman are more blessed with less wrinkles till they get much older – our western friends they are not as lucky – most have wrinkles way before they are 40 years old. True drinking and smoking plays a part with your skin glowing or not – but what if you come from a hard life like my mom and she had wrinkles right when she was 40 years old. She didn’t know anything about wrinkle creams or hydroxatone nor could she have afforded it at that time – and my mom still took the best care of her face the way she knew how – oil of ulan ! yup! good old oil of ulan. Wonder if it still exist now though but for me – i look for the best wrinkle cream not that I can afford a very expensive one – but who wants to go out and look like the spouse’s sister eh?
